Flexible Online Distance Learning

TBST's nationally accredited and recognised qualification courses are delivered by Online Training via Flexible Distance Learning. All course material including text books, course manuals, webinars, assessments, software and a large number of additional training supplies are provided to students on TBSTs Online Learning Management System (LMS).
 
Comprehensive learning support is provided to every student by all of the following methods:

Diploma of Leadership and Management BSB51918

This qualification has primarily been designed for managers and leaders who wish to apply knowledge, practical skills and experience in leadership and management across a range of organisations and industries.
 
This course provides individuals at this level with the skills and knowledge required to display initiative and judgement in planning, organising, implementing and monitoring their own workload and the workload of others. They use communication skills to support individuals and teams to meet organisational or enterprise requirements.
 
You’ll develop the skills and emotional intelligence to lead and manage in areas such as workplace relationships, organisational change, effective teams and individuals, people performance and professional development.
 
You’ll also gain a range of technical skills including in areas such as marketing, finance and budgeting, risk management, customer service management and project management.
 
Students develop the skills to plan, design, apply and evaluate solutions to unpredictable problems, and identify, analyse and synthesise information from a variety of sources.
 
All TBST trainers are professional bookkeepers and accountants and you will gain the most up to date skills training available. Our college specialises in professional bookkeeping and accounting and business leadership and management and all of our course content and assessments build directly on and add value to our students' work based activities. This training is delivered with Victorian & Commonwealth Government funding through the Skills First Program.

  • Course Commencement

    In order to commence training, student must complete an Online Induction. Students can commence their Online Induction at any time once the enrolment process is completed.
     
    Online Inductions:
    Online Inductions take approximately 60 minutes to complete and students are required to have competent Microsoft Office skills & a working version of Word & Excel. If you wish to apply for an Online Induction, please complete the space provided in detail on the Enrolment Form.

     

  • Eligibility for Government Funding

    Eligibility for a Victorian Government Funded place under the Skills First Program is available if you live in Victoria, and you meet government's citizenship/residence requirements, and you meet the following criteria. 

    To meet general citizenship/residency eligibility requirements, an individual must be:
    • An Australian citizen; or 
    • A New Zealand citizen or 
    • A holder of a permanent visa 
    To meet the Victorian Training Guarantee eligibility requirements an individual must comply with the following requirements:
    • You were under 20 years of age on the 1st January - Or 
    • You are seeking entry into a qualification that is at a higher level than any qualification you currently hold - AND 
    • You can begin up to two government subsidised courses in one year and do up to two government subsidised courses at the same time - AND 
    • You can begin up to two government subsidised courses at the same qualification level (other than Foundation Skills) in your lifetime, regardless of whether you complete them. There is no lifetime limit on the number of Foundation Skills courses you can begin. 
    • We do not accept Government Funded RPL Enrolments and all RPL will be charged at out standard Fee Paying RPL fees.
    • Applications cannot hold a Diploma or higher level qualification
     

    As part of your enrolment, you will be asked a series of questions relating to the above and you may be asked to provide relevant evidence to support your responses. You will also be required to sign a declaration attesting to the accuracy of your responses.

  • Course Materials Included
    We combine paced, distance and online learning into each of our courses.
     
    All course material is provided to our students online via our Learning Management System (LMS). The LMS provides students with a more streamlined method of working through the qualifications by allowing them to login and access all current course files from one central location at a time and place of their choosing.
     
    The LMS has been designed to enable students to work through course units in sequential order, according to unit difficulty, concepts and prerequisites, as per their individual Training Plan. Students will always have access to the most up-to-date course content for all qualifications, as any updates will be distributed to all students immediately via the LMS.
     
    Online delivery includes the following:

  • Employment Pathways

    The primary pathway from this qualification is employment in Senior Staff, Management or those that contribute to the review of or add value to Management practices or processes, with functions that include:

    • Being responsible for planning directing and overseeing the operations and fiscal health of a business unit, division, department or an operating unit with an organisation.
    • Provide guidance, support and direction to team members so they can complete assigned tasks successfully.
    • Oversee the recruiting, interviewing, and hiring of new staff; consult with top executives on strategic planning; and serve as a link between an organisation's management and its employees.
    • Operational planning
    • Working with stakeholders (both internal and external) to assist in financial planning management.

  • Course Duration

    Students have 18 months in which to complete their assessments for the course.

    Part-time for one year equates to approximately 12 – 15 hours per week reading, working through the course material and working on assessments. This timeframe will vary for every student depending on level their of experience and understanding of the course material.

    Due to this flexibility there is a lower drop out rate thus saving students time and money vested in their desired outcomes. In addition, flexible adult learning encourages students to continue the course at their own pace without restrictions as to when and how you complete the course.

    Therefore, students are able to continue their life roles and incorporate their study into time slots that suit their lifestyles. This also allows those that are working either as an employee or subcontractor to continue to earn money or charge for billable hours, which further serve to reduce the ʻrealʼ course costs.

  • Assessment
    Our assessments Do Not require students to attend classroom examinations. Assessments may be completed via the LMS as tasks, activities, quizzes and/or uploads.

    The course entry requirements are:
