Flexible Online Distance Learning

TBST's nationally accredited and recognised qualification courses are delivered by Online Training via Flexible Distance Learning. All course material including text books, course manuals, webinars, assessments, software and a large number of additional training supplies are provided to students on TBSTs Online Learning Management System (LMS).
 
Comprehensive learning support is provided to every student by all of the following methods:

Certificate IV in Leadership and Management BSB42015

This course incorporates substantial highly practical training that will equip our students with the necessary skills required of future leaders and managers who wish to be regarded as true industry professionals.

This qualification is designed to reflect the roles of individuals, who are or wish to be working as developing and emerging leaders and/or managers within a range of enterprise and industry contexts.
 
This course will develop the skills required for students to assume responsibility for their own performance and provide leadership, guidance and support to others. Fundamental to this are the skills required to take responsibility for organising and monitoring the output of their team.
 
Our students will learn how to apply solutions to predictable and unpredictable problems, and analyse and evaluate information from a variety of sources.
 
Students who achiever our qualification will gain skills to promote innovation and strive to continuously improve their team.
 
All TBST trainers are professional bookkeepers and accountants and you will gain the most up to date skills training available. Our college specialises in professional bookkeeping and accounting and business leadership and management and all of our course content and assessments build directly on and add value to our students' work based activities.     The BSB42015 Certificate IV in Leadership and Management is delivered by online flexible distance learning so students can study at home or work at their own pace & students are able to complete their qualification at a faster rate.

    Students can finish the course at a faster rate however this will be dependent on the factors which include external commitments, relevant skills, knowledge and experience within the area of study and motivation and dedication to course studies and their outcome.

  • Course Commencement
    Enrolments Now Open. Last Chance to receive Government Funding for this Qualification as we will not be offering it in 2020. 
     
    In order to commence training, student must complete their enrolment prior to the 31st of December and can complete an Online Induction. Students can commence their Online Induction at any time once the enrolment process is completed.
     
    Online Inductions:
    Online Inductions take approximately 60 minutes to complete and students are required to have competent Microsoft Office skills & a working version of Word & Excel. If you wish to apply for an Online Induction, please complete the space provided in detail on the Enrolment Form.

     

  • Eligibility for Government Funding

    Eligibility for a Victorian Government Funded place under the Skills First Program is available if you live in Victoria, and you meet government's citizenship/residence requirements, and you meet the following criteria. 

    To meet general citizenship/residency eligibility requirements, an individual must be:
    • An Australian citizen; or 
    • A New Zealand citizen or 
    • A holder of a permanent visa 
    To meet the Victorian Training Guarantee eligibility requirements an individual must comply with the following requirements:
    • You were under 20 years of age on the 1st January - Or 
    • You are seeking entry into a qualification that is at a higher level than any qualification you currently hold - AND 
    • You can begin up to two government subsidised courses in one year and do up to two government subsidised courses at the same time - AND 
    • You can begin up to two government subsidised courses at the same qualification level (other than Foundation Skills) in your lifetime, regardless of whether you complete them. There is no lifetime limit on the number of Foundation Skills courses you can begin. 
    • We do not accept Government Funded RPL Enrolments and all RPL will be charged at out standard Fee Paying RPL fees.
    • Applications cannot hold a Certificate IV or higher level qualification
     

    As part of your enrolment, you will be asked a series of questions relating to the above and you may be asked to provide relevant evidence to support your responses. You will also be required to sign a declaration attesting to the accuracy of your responses.

  • Who should do this course?
    This course is specifically designed for, those wanting to develop their frontline objectives through performance management, workforce management, continuous improvement, problem solving and sales and marketing.
     
    This qualification has primarily been designed for managers or leaders who can apply knowledge, practical skills and experience in leadership and management across a range of organisations and industries.
     
    People who would be suited to enrolment in this qualification include individuals who are working in or wish to work in supervisory or management specific roles such as:
    • Coordinators
    • Leading Hands
    • Supervisors
    • Team Leaders
    • Office Managers
     
    As well as assuming responsibility for their own performance, individuals at this level will provide leadership, guidance and support to others. They also have some responsibility for organising and monitoring the output of their team.
     
    A further learning pathway utilising a qualification such as this would be the Diploma of Leadership and Management, Advanced Diploma of Leadership and Management and would support career progression up to an MBA.

     

  • Skills Obtained
    The qualification is grouped into three sections which include Management, Workforce Management, Sales and Marketing in order to develop the skills and knowledge required to:
    • Lead teams and individuals by modelling high standards of conduct to reflect the organisation's standards and values. It applies to individuals who are making the transition from being a team member to taking responsibility for the work and performance of others.
    • Communicate effectively as a workplace leader, including understanding the context, choosing methods of communication to suit the audience, and following up.
    • Implement the operational plan by monitoring and adjusting operational performance, planning and acquiring resources and providing reports on performance as required.
    • Identify risks and to apply established risk management processes to a defined area of operations that are within the responsibilities and obligations of the role.
    • Monitor and obtain feedback on own work performance and access learning opportunities for professional development. Schedule work plans and establish priorities for their work.
    • Implement the organisations continuous improvement systems and processes. It covers using systems and strategies to actively encourage the team to participate in the process, monitoring and reviewing performance, and identifying opportunities for further improvements.
    • Use leadership to promote team cohesion. It includes motivating, mentoring, coaching and developing the team and forming the bridge between the management of the organisation and team members.
    • Plan and supervise the performance of the team and develop team cohesion. It applies team leaders, supervisors and new emerging managers who have an important leadership role in the development of efficient and effective work teams.
    • Lead a diverse workforce by identifying, analysing and engaging with a diverse workforce to maximise the benefit of diversity to the organisation.
    • Execute tasks associated with the recruitment cycle and apply in-depth knowledge of the work of the organisation, and how recruitment and selection practices fit with other human resources functions.
    • Coordinate and review the promotion of an organisations products and services and develop a broad knowledge of the promotion of products and services specific to an organisation.
    • Advise, carry out and evaluate customer service strategies. Develop skills and a broad knowledge of customer service strategies for addressing customer needs and problems, and who may provide guidance or delegate work related tasks to others.

    We also have a Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) section on the LMS. If students have any questions these will also be answered, with our Assessment email address manned from 10am until 6pm weekdays (except Public Holidays).
     
  • Course Materials Included
    We combine paced, distance and online learning into each of our courses.
     
    All course material is provided to our students online via our Learning Management System (LMS). The LMS provides students with a more streamlined method of working through the qualifications by allowing them to login and access all current course files from one central location at a time and place of their choosing.
     
    The LMS has been designed to enable students to work through course units in sequential order, according to unit difficulty, concepts and prerequisites, as per their individual Training Plan. Students will always have access to the most up-to-date course content for all qualifications, as any updates will be distributed to all students immediately via the LMS.
     
    Online delivery includes the following:

    This qualification has primarily been designed for managers or leaders who can apply knowledge, practical skills and experience in leadership and management across a range of organisations and industries. People who would be suited to enrolment in this qualification include individuals who are working in or wish to work in supervisory or management specific roles such as:

  • Course Duration

    Students have 12 months to complete this qualification.

    This course is complete via self paced distance learning, however it is expected that students will complete 10 to 12 hours of self scheduled study each week to remain compliant with the government funding course requirements.

    Students can finish the course at a faster rate however this will be dependent on the factors which include external commitments, relevant skills, knowledge and experience within the area of study and motivation and dedication to course studies and their outcome.

    Due to this flexibility there is a lower drop out rate thus saving students time and money vested in their desired outcomes. In addition, flexible adult learning encourages students to continue the course at their own pace without restrictions as to when and how you complete the course.

    Therefore, students are able to continue their life roles and incorporate their study into time slots that suit their lifestyles. This also allows those that are working either as an employee or subcontractor to continue to earn money or charge for billable hours, which further serve to reduce the ʻrealʼ course costs. Students have 12 months in which to complete all of their assessments.

  • Assessment
    Our assessments Do Not require students to attend classroom examinations. Assessments may be completed via the LMS as tasks, activities, quizzes and/or uploads.

    The course entry requirements are:
    • Language, Literacy & Numeracy (LLN) Skills (Level 4 to 5 – AQF)
